Only 500 m from the sea and 15 min from New Plymouth, the club's spacious grounds are sheltered by many trees. There is a swimming pool and barbecue area, plenty of space for camping, but no mains power (12 V lighting). A smallish clubhouse has all the normal facilities, including a separate kitchen. There are two caravans and a small cabin available for hire.

The club's ground is near Orua Downs, 23 km west of Palmerston North and 15 minutes drive from Himitangi Beach. "Lake Downs" consists of 7.5 hectares of farmland with a clubhouse, 40 powered caravan sites and plenty of room for tents. Facilities include sheltered sunbathing areas, a swimming pool and two children's pools. There are two concrete miniten courts, a 9 hole putting green, two trampolines, a children's play area and a barbecue. There are two ablution blocks with toilets, wash-basins and coin operated hot showers. Kitchen facilities are available for campers.
