Where:-

From New Plymouth, head out along Breakwater Road toward the thermal power station. At the sign "Lookouts", turn left into Ngamotu Road, then immediately right into Centennial Drive. Go 2 km to the last and lowest car park. Walk 400 m south, past the rocky points.

What's there:-

The black sand is often damp.
