Dear Friends,

This is the last newsletter for this financial year, and the out-going committee thank you for your enthusiastic support, helpful suggestions and hilarious complaints. (Pause while I take my tongue out of my cheek.)

Being on the committee is lots of fun, sometimes a little hard work, but a great way of getting to know each other better. I thoroughly enjoy it, and wish you all the pleasure of joining in. We look forward to seeing you all turning up for the Annual Meeting, and lots of new faces on next year's Free Beach Committee.

My personal thanks to all those who have helped me to do my job and get things right, most of the time, anyway!

Special thanks to John Lowe, ex Wellington Local Organiser, now in Auckland (a warm welcome to you, John, you have already made a place for yourself among the local fraternity). John has been keeping things going in Wellington for so long, I know you will miss him.

Our support and encouragement now go to John Gifford, 146 Ariki Road, Haitaitai, phone 863-35l, who will take on the position as Local Organiser for Wellington.

ANNUAL MEETING: Mark it on your calendar, it is Saturday, 14 August, 2 p.m. at the Boy Scout Den, Clive Road, Mt. Eden. This is your chance to come along and share your ideas, have a little fun and a few arguments, and meet people you've never met before. Afternoon tea will follow, then we leave on the bus for our Waiwera trip.

A special invitation to all country members, to come to Auckland and make a weekend of it. If you need accommodation, let me know in plenty of time, and I will ask around.

WAIWERA TRIP: The bus leaves Clive Road at 5 p.m. Cost is $11 each, BYOG and a towel. Barbecue dinner and plastic glasses provided. Please do not smoke or drink the pool. Bookings must be in by 31 July, with the money, as numbers will be limited (the pool is only so big).

SUBSCRIPTIONS: These will not be taken after the Annual Meeting as has been done in past years. You will be sent a Subscription Renewal Form with the first newsletter in September. Fill this in, enclose your cheque or postal note, and post it to us. The amount of the subscription will be decided at the Annual Meeting.

It is hoped that by everybody filling in a form each year, we can keep up with changes of address, age groups and interests, and also make it much easier for keeping the records.

LOCAL GROUPS: In some parts of the country we have active local groups, who organise outings and socials for their particular areas. But many of our members are widely scattered, and if we are to survive and support both our cause and each other, we need to band together as much as possible. In some places there are enough members to form a good local group, even people living in the same street, who don't know that their neighbours are some of us!

The new Subscription Renewal Form will have a space to put which local group you wish to belong to.

PENFRIEND: We have received a letter and photograph (in uniform!) from Daniel Watier, Quebec, who is hoping to find a naturist penfriend, particularly a lady penfriend. He writes: "I'm a 22 year old French Canadian studying Finance at Sherbrooke University. My course lasts for another 2 years after which I hope to work in Montreal. My hobbies include ski, most water sports, writing, camping, photography, travelling and music. I'm 5'9" and weigh 150 pounds. My eyes and hair are brown."

Anyone interested, please contact me.

Cheery greetings to all my friends, especially those in far-away places, we'll get together again when the sunshine comes back.

Best wishes for a cosy winter.

Adrianne
