Dear Friends
Our A.G.M. on 13 August resulted in some new names as Committee members, so note them on your "IMPORTANT" page, please:

Chairman TONY WILSON 679-726
Secretary JOHN RIGGIR 565-219
Sec's Side-Kick LOIS KENNEDY 450-037
Treasurer PETER WOOD-PEIRCE 276-8474
Public Relations PADDY LEGGET 559-626
Committee
     JOY WOOD-PEIRCE   276-8474
     ALF GORRINGE   685-374

We are all sorry to see Adrianne bowing out (she assures us it's only for a while), but she has done a great job for a considerable time now, and her's is going to be a hard act to follow.

Now for some good news: SUBSCRIPTIONS (payable now) have been reduced to $6.00 - no concessions. It is important that you complete and return the enclosed Renewal Form with your subscription, as it saves many hassles.

The trip to Waiwera following the meeting was a mite chilly, to say the least, but it was delightful to see so many familiar faces and a goodly number of unfamiliar ones, too. I hope we shall be seeing much more of all of them.

Isn't this about the time that some members take off for climes more salubrious? We would all like to share your pleasure, if you feel like dropping us a line or two when you return.

The N.Z.N.F. Rally will be held this year at the Palmerston North Sun Club between 29 December 1983 and 3 January 1984. Full Rally Fee is $30.00 per adult, children free; if you wish to attend only part of the Rally the costs are: Day Visit $1.00, Day and Overnight Stay $4.00, Wine & Cheese Disco $7.50, New Year's Eve Party $7.50. Application forms must reach the Rally Secretary by 5 November, so write or phone for a form now (you must be a financial member to receive one!).

Please also give some thought to the Anniversary Weekend Camp at Ngatuhoa Lodge in the Bay of Plenty. Charlie Saggers organises this for us and it really is a delightful weekend, and extremely good value at $6.00 per adult and $3.00 per child for the whole three days. More about that later, but in the meantime, BEAR IT IN MIND.

Discussion at our first Committee meeting on 23 August centred around the aim of this Group to promote nudism on all our beaches, rather than one or two N.I. beaches solely for nudists. Many of our members are already (and have been for some time) spearheading this movement and we are confident that many more will do so in the near future. Exemplary behaviour, of course, should obviate any embarrassment of ourselves or other beach users. We do urge you to display our yellow towels, tee-shirts, medallions and car-stickers bearing the Fred Bear logo.

N.S. Nudist Club swim nights at RICKARDO'S, Parakai, continue to be popular, on the last Friday of every month. Admission is $2.30 fo adults, 80c for children, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. And of course they run their very acceptable raffle with two prizes.

Clive Green's Sunday Night Sauna continues to be a popular meeting place where friends exchange news and generally keep up with the play. 5-9 pm, admission $3 single, $5 double, children under 15 free. Tea and coffee is offered.

Pat and Tony Davis have again rendered yeoman service running SWIMERAMA swim nights on the third Saturday of each month. This is from 6-8 pm and after a brisk swim you can take a turn in one of the cosy saunas. Admission is $2.00 for adults, children 50c - an offer you really shouldn't refuse. The last swim night this year will be in October - the 22nd - so include it in your Labour Weekend plans!

Now, shake the moths out of your Beach Lists and think positively about some summer recreation. I am sure that the amount of winter sun we have experienced will have ensured that many sunbathers have not lost last year's colour - that is, the fortunate ones who can manage a couple of hours here and there during the working week. For the rest of us who are varying shades of white-ish, we will (as always) start our tanning sensibly. Let's look forward now to many hours and days of sunshine and fresh air - together as much as possible.

Best wishes to you all,
     Lois
