FBG heading

Dear members, April 85.

Ngatuhoa Lodge.
Seventy members and friends from as far away as Wellington, Leigh, Palmerston North and Germany negotiated the steep windy road to the lodge. After making sure of a bunk for the night or putting up the tent, checking the water supply, lighting all the fires for hot showers it was introductions all around then everyone to his own thing. Visits to the waterfalls - walking the tracks and roads - jogging - cards - ball games - looking at progress on the generator waterwheel - falling out of the rubber boats into the river. We even considered sending out a search party for some of the group who went to the big waterfall and tried to take a shortcut back.
The fancy dress party went off very noisily. A lot of effort went into some of the costumes - thanks to all who participated. All too soon it was time to clean up and head for home.
Many have expressed a wish to return again so we have booked for next anniversary Weekend and Easter.

Beach day Feb 9th.
A fine sunny day but only about 10 people showed up. There were even less at the May day. These days were in response to requests by a number of members but none of those members showed up. We will try again later, - meanwhile what social events do you want?
We intend putting a suggestion box at Clive Greens. Look forward to what comes up.
Fun day & barbeque at A.O.H.C.
When I arrived there were about 30 of our members enjoying the last rays of the sun before getting down to the serious business of barbecuing. The delicious aromas wafted around the area.
When the eating ceased, all except about 18 members remained to enjoy a night of dancing. We were later joined by about ten members of the A.O.H.C. A very enjoyable time was had by all with the request - are we going to have another? We will see what we can do if you want more of this kind of activity.

A few members are looking for more company on the beach at the Tawharanui Regional Park out from Warkworth. Use the parking area down by the beach and walk north (turn left) along the beach for about 15 - 20 minutes.

A couple of enquiries about local organisers. We haven't had any information from other areas so we cannot pass anything on. About half of our membership is in the Auckland area and the rest of the country gets a bit left out. Without feedback we do not know what is wanted locally. Use your directory and get together to let us know what you want. Many of us would like to join in your activities as we travel around. Give us something to discuss at the A.G.M.

A.G.M. & Annual get together at Waiwera.

This has been arranged for August 24th. We are giving plenty of warning. Last year we had a number of late payers and last minute attendees. This caused some problems with the catering. This year entry will be by ticket and we will want to know two weeks in advance.
A bus will be provided from the meeting to the hot pool. More details later on.

Complaint
We have received a letter of complaint from one of our members about the behaviour at Ngatuhoa Lodge. It is a bit long to reproduce here but our member is concerned at the use of questionable or bad language which could be heard over most of the camp area especially in the hearing of the caretaker and his family. While there may be some differences of opinion of what causes offence there must be some agreement with the final paragraphs of the letter - "May I suggest that we at all times conduct ourselves in such a way that the integrity of the nudist movement and our own F.B.G. in particular is not impugned or brought into ridicule.
"I trust that this letter will be accepted, not as a judgement on others, but as a sincere reminder to us all that we do nothing that may cause offence to others, and that we make sure that or conduct in public is always above reproach."
